Hill-Rom Acquiring TRUMPF Medical for $250 Million

Hill-Rom Holdings has agreed to purchase TRUMPF Medical for $250 million in cash, in a deal expected to close late in the fourth quarter.
The addition of TRUMPF Medical doubles Hill-Rom’s line of surgical products and expands its geographic footprint in high-growth markets such as Asia/Pacific, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Latin America, the Batesville, Ind.-based company says.
German devicemaker TRUMPF manufactures operating room products, such as surgical tables, lighting and supplies—products that complement Hill-Rom’s portfolio of scalpels, the Allen Advance Spine Table, patient positioning accessories, surgical supplies and fluids management systems, according to Hill-Rom.
The acquisition is subject to the customary closing conditions and approval by regulatory authorities. — Kellen Owings
