Philips Launches Two-in-One Life Support Ventilator in Canada
Royal Phillips announced Friday that it has launched the Philipps Respironics V680 Ventilator for respiratory care in the Canadian market. A U.S. launch is pending, contingent upon receipt of 510(k) clearance.
Used for invasive and noninvasive ventilation, the device is meant to allow for smoother transition from ventilation to natural breathing, the company says.
The product is intended to administer advanced life support for severely ill patients in an intensive care unit.
Based in the Netherlands, Royal Philips offers healthcare, consumer lifestyle and lighting products, and employs about 108,000 people. — Jason Scott
