HeartSine Launches AED With Feedback Features
HeartSine Technologies has introduced the first-ever, FDA-cleared automated external defibrillator that offers real-time verbal and visual feedback on the CPR compressions rate, the Newton, Pa., devicemaker announced Monday.
The samaritan PAD 450P features CPR Rate Advisor which helps a rescuer navigate a sudden cardiac arrest resuscitation and administer a shock when necessary. The LED-based display is designed to work in tandem with visual prompts so rescuers can administer CPR in noisy environments, the company says.
Additionally, the device uses the signals detected through its electrode pads to keep CPR interruptions to a minimum by informing the rescuer when compressions have not started or stalled between shocks.
Following a CPR episode, individuals can then use HeartSine’s software to download the event history and evaluate the rescuer’s compression rate efficacy.
