CMS Proposes to Testing New Part B Drug Models
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is seeking comments on a proposed rule that would test six alternative approaches to pay for Medicare Part B drugs.
The goal of the rule is to encourage prescribing of the most effective drugs, and to test new outcome-based payment methods. There are six payment approaches in the proposal, one of which creates incentives to prescribe higher-performing drugs, CMS says.
Comments are due May 9. Read the proposed rule here: www.fdanews.com/03-09-16-PartBProposedRule.pdf.
