Tax Court: Mylan Must Deliver Licensing Agreement Docs to the IRS
March 3, 2017
Mylan received a U.S. Tax Court order to turn over documents to the IRS relating to a controversial licensing deal with Forest Laboratories.
In 2014, the IRS issued the drugmaker a $100 million tax bill over the 2008 agreement with Forest. Mylan said the transaction should be classified as a sale rather than a licensing agreement.
In January, IRS officials filed a motion to order Mylan to produce the relevant documents, arguing the company was acting in bad faith and had refused several prior requests for information.
