Devicemakers Fall Behind on Cybersecurity
Two-thirds of medical device manufacturers expect an attack on their devices in the next year, according to a survey by the Michigan-based Ponemon Institute.
A majority of respondents described securing devices as very difficult, and many said their organization would only increase their security budget in response to an actual attack.
Only 25 percent said security protocols or architecture built inside devices provide adequate protections.
