DEA Puts Seven Fentanyl-Related Products in Schedule I Through 2020
The Drug Enforcement Administration temporarily placed the following seven fentanyl-related substances into Schedule I: valeryl fentanyl, para-fluorobutyryl fentanyl, paramethoxybutyryl fentanyl, para-chloroisobutyryl fentanyl, isobutyryl fentanyl, cyclopentyl fentanyl, and ocfentanil.
The DEA said the placing the synthetic opioids into Schedule I is necessary to “avoid an imminent hazard to the public safety.”
The order will apply from Feb. 1, 2018 through Feb. 2, 2020.
