Amazon agreed to buy online pharmacy PillPack, a privately held startup.

The company offers home delivery and pre-sorted medicine doses. It has pharmacy licenses in every state. The move follows widespread speculation Amazon would enter the pharmaceutical business.

“PillPack is meaningfully improving its customers’ lives, and we want to help them continue making it easy for people to save time, simplify their lives, and feel healthier,” said Jeff Wilke, CEO of Amazon’s worldwide consumer division.
