Teva Delays Release of Generic Suboxone Until End of Dr. Reddy’s Legal Fight

Sept. 14, 2018

Teva agreed not to release its generic for Indivior’s opioid addiction drug Suboxone (buprenorphine and naloxone) until a court case involving Dr. Reddy’s is resolved, Indivior said Wednesday.

In February, Indivior sued several drugmakers, including Teva, for infringement of its patent on Suboxone sublingual film. Indivior is also currently in a legal dispute with Dr. Reddy’s over the Indian company’s plans to re-launch a cheaper version of the drug.

In July, Indivior won a preliminary injunction against Dr. Reddy’s in the case, although Dr. Reddy’s and Mylan both received FDA approval earlier this year to sell generics of Indivior’s drug.
