Former Drug Rep Admits to Role in Health Care Fraud Scheme

February 28, 2019

A former San Antonio, Texas pharmaceutical representative pleaded guilty for her role in an $8 million health care fraud scheme that illegally earned her over a million dollars.

Holly Blakely pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, health care fraud, paying kickbacks and bribery. She was involved in more than $400,000 in kickbacks and bribes to health care providers that prescribed compounded drugs to individuals who didn’t need them.

Blakely and others involved in the scheme attempted to hide the kickbacks and bribes through fabricated “consulting agreements.” Many prescriptions submitted to compounding pharmacies were for patients who had never consulted a medical professional.
