FDA Clears Spinal Implant With New Superalloy
Devices Submissions and Approvals
The FDA granted 510(k) clearance for MiRus’ Europa pedicle screw system, a spinal implant that uses a new medical alloy.
MoRe, a proprietary molybdenum rhenium superalloy, improves the strength, durability, ductility and safety of the implant and can be used in all medical devices.
The alloy offers less disruption of soft tissue, quicker recovery and better patient outcomes by making the spine deformity implant more durable.
