Indian devicemaker Sahajanand Medical Technologies has received the CE Mark for its SupraFlex Cruz, a coronary stent device.

The product elutes sirolimus, a compound used as coating to prevent narrowing of coronary arteries after balloon angioplasty. The cobalt chromium stent allows physicians to access complicated lesions.

The company says the stent also reduces radiation exposure by shortening the time needed for procedures.
