FDA to Begin Tossing Outdated Drug Listing Records

August 16, 2019

The FDA announced that it will begin removing out-of-date drug listing records from its database in one month and urged companies to update any inaccurate listings as soon as possible.

Starting Sept. 12, listings that have not been updated or certified in line with regulations or that include an establishment with an expired registration will be on the chopping block, the agency said, noting that tens of thousands of records have not been updated in the past year.

Products that have had their listings deactivated can’t be legally marketed or imported in the U.S. until the records are made current.
