MHRA to Get New Interim Chief Ahead of Brexit
June Raine will become interim CEO of the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) on Sept. 20, just before the UK is scheduled to leave the EU.
The MHRA’s current CEO Ian Hudson is stepping down after 18 years, six of those as head of the agency.
Raine has served as director of the agency’s Vigilance and Risk Management of Medicines division since 2006. She was chair of the EMA’s Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee from 2012 to 2018.
Raine said she is “proud to be asked to lead the agency at this time.”
