Three years after withdrawing its Beacon Tip catheters from the European market over complaints, Cook Medical has announced their relaunch.
The catheters, which are designed for use in angiographic procedures, were initially pulled globally in April 2016 after reports of tip splitting or fractures. The catheters feature a visible distal tip for improved visualization while using fluoroscopic guidance.
As part of the product’s relaunch, the company announced that it has improved its packaging. The new foil packaging will help protect the catheter from environmental effects, Cook Medical said.
