UnitedHealth Hits 20 Generic Drugmakers With Price-Fixing Suit
UnitedHealth filed suit against 20 generic drugmakers in a Minnesota federal court for allegedly conspiring to fix the prices of more than 100 generic drugs.
The 417-page complaint in the U.S. District Court for Minnesota alleges that Teva selected “high quality” competitors such as Mylan and Sandoz and targeted drugs that overlapped with its competitors, such as diclofenac potassium tablets.
The drugmakers are accused of engaging in “contracts, combinations and conspiracies that restrained trade, inflated prices, and reduced competition in the generic pharmaceutical industry.”
