ICMRA Warns of Impact From Antimicrobial Resistance
The International Coalition of Medicines Regulatory Authorities warned that antimicrobial resistance will result in a loss of $100 trillion of economic output and 10 million lives worldwide each year by 2050 if no action is taken.
The ICMRA urged industry leaders to invest in research and development and called on global health agencies incentivize product innovation.
The coalition said that its members are committed to “work together to streamline regulatory requirements, without compromising the quality, efficacy and safety review of these products.”
