Australia Warns Against Products Marketed for Novel Coronavirus
Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) warned drugmakers not to make therapeutic claims related to the novel coronavirus in advertisements for their products.
The agency said companies claiming their products can prevent the virus’ spread or increase a patient’s immunity may be subject to sanctions and fines.
The agency is “not aware of any medicines or supplements available without prescription that will prevent or assist with recovery from a novel coronavirus infection,” TGA said.
