Another Study Finds No Benefit from Hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19
Researchers at the University of Albany said they found no benefit from using hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19. There have been at least two other studies that came to the same conclusion.
This study looked at 1,436 COVID-19 patients in 25 hospitals and found that taking the drug with or without the antibiotic azithromycin was not associated with lower in-hospital mortality.
The study also found that a greater portion of patients taking hydroxychloroquine with azithromycin experienced cardiac arrest than those taking either medication alone.
