FDA Approves Cochlear’s Off-the-Ear Sound Processor
The FDA has granted approval to Cochlear for its Kanso 2 sound processor, an off-the-ear implant that features Bluetooth technology.
The device, which is designed to improve the hearing of patients with hearing loss, allows direct streaming from Apple and Android devices and can be controlled using a smartphone app.
According to the company, the Kanso 2 device is the world’s smallest off-the-ear cochlear implant.
