Novacyt has received a CE mark for its Winterplex respiratory test panel for COVID-19, influenza A and B, and respiratory syncytial virus infections.

With the approach of the flu season, healthcare providers will face a challenge in differentiating COVID-19 from other respiratory diseases. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test panel, designed for use on any open PCR machine, can distinguish between the different types of flu and COVID-19.

The Anglo-French company said that it expects to be able to meet anticipated global demand for the product.
