Abbott’s MitraClip G4, a device used to repair the heart’s mitral valve, has received a CE mark certification for treating mitral valve regurgitation.

The device includes a new delivery system with four clip sizes to accommodate different valve anatomies. Transcatheter mitral valve therapy restores the heart’s ability to pump oxygenated blood.

The MitraClip G4 also features independently controlled grippers that are used to grasp one or both mitral valve leaflets, if needed, during the surgical procedure.
