Teleflex’s Arrow vascular-access system has secured an additional 510(k) clearance from the FDA, allowing the device to be used for up to 48 hours.

The Arrow EZ-IO device, which can be used for adults and children 12 years and older, offers an alternative when normal intravenous access is not available during emergency situations.

Teleflex said it sought the expanded clearance “based on input from clinicians, who were seeking a longer dwell time” for the device.
