Oxford Nanopore has earned a CE mark certification for its LamPORE COVID-19 test, a diagnostic that is run on the company’s desktop GridION system.

The rapid, low-cost test can be used in any laboratory and the desktop system can process up to 480 samples per run, the company said.

In a study of more than 500 samples, the test showed a sensitivity of 99.1 percent for correctly identifying positive samples and a specificity of 99.6 percent for accurately detecting negative samples.
