McKesson Indicates Opioid Settlement Could Reach $21 Billion
November 4, 2020
McKesson and two other U.S. drug distributors could pay an estimated $21 billion to resolve thousands of state lawsuits over their alleged role in fueling the opioid addiction epidemic, according to McKesson’s latest quarterly report.
In October 2019, McKesson, AmerisourceBergen and Cardinal Health agreed in principle to pay a combined $18 billion over 18 years to settle more than 3,000 opioid lawsuits.
The distributors also agreed at that time to pay up to $215 million to settle lawsuits with two Ohio counties.
