Bangladesh Will Buy AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine Doses from India’s Serum Institute

Bangladesh has signed a supply deal with the Serum Institute of India for 30 million doses of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine, AZD1222.
Bangladeshi Health Minister Zahid Maleque said the country will receive the doses during “the first phase” of distribution.
The vaccine is expected to cost just a few dollars per dose, the same price as in India.
The AstraZeneca vaccine requires two doses 28 days apart, so the 30 million doses will be enough to vaccinate 15 million people.
