Tuebingen, Germany-based Erbe Elektromedizin has reached an agreement to acquire Maxer Endoscopy, a German developer of high-end visualization devices.

Maxer specializes in minimally invasive surgery and makes a variety of endoscopic systems and instruments for laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, urology, pediatric surgery, arthroscopy, spine endoscopy and ear, nose and throat surgery.

Maxer’s technology provides sharp multi-spectral images for near-infrared fluorescence-guided surgery and white light images.

The companies did not release financial terms of the purchase agreement or the timing for closure of the deal.
