EU Antitrust Regulators Set to Decide on $21 Billion Bid from Thermo Fisher
EU antitrust regulators will decide by Dec. 7 whether to approve Thermo Fisher Scientific’s $21 billion proposed purchase of the Wilmington, N.C.-based contract research company PPD.
Thermo Fisher announced in April it planned to purchase PPD, “a leader in the growin $50 billion clinical research services industry.”
The EU regulators may delay a decision on the purchase and open a months-long investigation if they have serious concerns about the proposed deal.
