Novacyt said its PROmate COVID-19 2G polymerase chain-reaction (PCR) test has been approved for use in the UK.

The Anglo-French company, which has offices in Camberley, UK, and Paris, France, received UK approval for another real-time PCR test, COVID-19 genesig, in November 2021.

The PROmate test can detect two different SARS-CoV-2 genetic targets. The new test responds to the increased demand for multi-gene testing solutions that can identify multiple variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the company said.

Novacyt said the new test is suitable for use in travel, sport, film, media and workplace settings.
