WHO Recommends Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 Booster Shot
The World Health Organization (WHO) has updated its Emergency Use Listing (EUL), which now includes a recommendation for the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine booster in adults 18 years and older.
The updated EUL allows people who have had a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine to get a booster from the same company, but it also allows people who have had two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines to get a Johnson & Johnson booster if they so choose, the company said.
The company also said that anyone who wants a Johnson & Johnson booster can get one as soon as two months after getting the Johnson & Johnson first COVID-19 vaccine dose or after getting two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines.
As of now, the CDC has not recommended Johnson & Johnson booster doses in most cases.
