JURY FINDS BLUESKY, MEDELA AG DID NOT INFRINGE ON KINETIC CONCEPT PATENTS
A jury Aug. 3 issued a split decision in a patent infringement suit brought by Kinetic Concepts (KCI), a manufacturer of wound closure technology and specialty hospital beds, against BlueSky Medical Group and Swiss company Medela AG.
A jury in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas found that KCI's V.A.C. wound technology patents were valid and enforceable but that BlueSky's Versatile 1 product did not infringe on them, KCI said Aug. 3.
KCI says it will appeal the ruling.
