Startup Brings in New Chief, Seeks to Raise $8 Million
A startup that's developing a device to surgically treat arrhythmic heartbeats has hired a Triangle pharmaceutical industry veteran as its chief executive and is pursuing $8 million in first round venture funding. Ablatrics, which was formed in 2002, has hired John Funkhouser, former chief executive of Morrisville, N.C.-based public company PharmaNetics, to lead its fundraising efforts.
