Myogen, Novartis Expand Partnership
Myogen Inc. said that it is expanding a drug development partnership with Swiss drugmaker Novartis AG to include another potential heart disease treatment. The companies have been collaborating since 2003 on certain experimental drugs to treat heart muscle disorders and Myogen said that research program has reached three development milestones, each of which triggered payments from Novartis. The expansion adds Myogen's patented histone deacetylase inhibitors to the deal and extends research funding for at least three years.
