FDA Gives Mentor Approvable Letter, Paving Way for Implant Sales

Signaling that a medical device can come back from the brink of disappearance, silicone gel-filled breast implants came closer to being marketed again in the U.S. in late July when implant manufacturer Mentor announced it had received an “approvable letter” from the FDA for its MemoryGel implant.
