EU's Orphan Medicines Regulation Delivers 22 Drugs to Market

Twenty-two orphan drugs for the treatment of 20 life-threatening or debilitating rare diseases have been approved since the European Union (EU) implemented its orphan medicines regulation five years ago, and more than 260 additional orphan drugs are in the pipeline, the European Commission reported in a final evaluation of the regulation.
