A federal court decision that the FDA cannot regulate drug compounding, a practice in which pharmacists prepare prescription drugs from bulk ingredients, under the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act severely curtails the agency’s attempt to exert authority over the practice, industry sources said.
