SALIX SWINGS TO 4Q LOSS ON CHARGES
Salix Pharmaceuticals Ltd. said Friday that it swung to a fourth-quarter loss on several one-time charges, but the drug maker still fell short of Wall Street estimates excluding the items. Shares of Salix fell in premarket activity by $1.12, or 6 percent to $16.40 on the INET electronic exchange. The company reported a quarterly loss of $2.9 million, or 6 cents per share, versus a profit of $3.6 million, or 10 cents per share, a year earlier.
