The Athlone-based pharmaceutical company, Élan, has announced that its multiple sclerosis treatment drug Tysabri will be on the market in Ireland from next month. The announcement was made after the European Commission gave its approval for the sale of Tysabri in Europe. The approval comes 18 months after the drug's withdrawal from testing following the death of two patients involved in drug trials.
