Teva Provides Update on Famvir Litigation
Israeli drugmaker Teva Pharmaceutical announced that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has issued an order temporarily enjoining the company from further sales of famciclovir tablets, the generic version of Novartis’ Famvir tablets for the treatment of herpes.
The injunction will remain in place pending consideration of Novartis’ emergency motion. Teva’s response to the motion is due Sept. 11.
Teva launched its generic version "at risk" since patent litigation is still ongoing. A trial date has not been set.
