Merit Medical Announces 510(k) Notification for Biliary Catheter

Merit Medical Systems received notification from the FDA of 510(k) clearance for its Resolve Biliary Catheter.

This catheter is placed in the common bile duct, the passageway for bile to flow from the gallbladder and the liver to the small intestine. The catheter drains the bile either internally (inside the intestines) or externally (into a bag outside the body).

The company said this is the first of several FDA clearances it expects to receive before the end of the year.
