Group Working to Heal Deafness

Engineers at the Rochester Institute of Technology are working on what could be a major medical breakthrough: Healing deafness. The researchers are designing an implantable micropump. It would be placed inside the ear of a mouse with hearing loss. The pump would then deliver a mixture of drug therapies to the cochlea, the part of the ear often associated with hearing loss.
