Global Fund Renews HIV/AIDS Grant to India

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, a partnership between governments, nongovernmental organizations, the private sector and communities, has signed an agreement worth more than $100 million to fight AIDS in India.

India’s Department of Economic Affairs will use the money to strengthen antiretroviral (ARV) treatment programs.

The grant brings the amount of Global Fund resources to India to $492 million, which has helped provide ARV treatment to approximately 80,000 people and TB treatment to more than 245,000, according to the Global Fund.
