Proellex Reduces Pain for Women With Endometriosis

July 15, 2008

Proellex achieved positive results from an interim analysis of Repros Therapeutics’ U.S. Phase II trial evaluating the drug as a pain treatment for endometriosis.

The study assessed the effect of the drug for women experiencing moderate-to-severe pain from endometriosis, a common medical condition characterized by tissue growth beyond or outside the uterus. The data showed the pain was meaningfully reduced after one to two months of treatment compared with placebo, according to Repros.

The data confirmed and extended positive results from an initial proof-of-concept study conducted in Europe.
