Pioneer Rolls Out Cervical Plate System

Pioneer Surgical Technology is launching its SlimFuse anterior cervical plate system.

The system is used for cervical fusion procedures. It allows surgeons to choose between a rigid, semi-rigid or translationally dynamic system without additional instrumentation. Compared with traditional systems, its narrow plate width and scalloped cutouts provide improved interoperative visualization, the company said.

The product received FDA 510(k) clearance in January. It will be available in the U.S. and distributed in Europe through the company’s wholly-owned, Netherlands-based subsidiary.
