Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) pledged to reintroduce a bill in the 111th Congress to regulate industry-physician gifts at the same time AdvaMed updated its code of ethics for all interactions between devicemakers and healthcare professionals. The Physician Payments Sunshine Act, introduced last year as S. 2029, would require makers of devices, drugs and biologics to publicly report money they give to all doctors.
