Teva Gets Tentative OK for Generic Seroquel

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries has received tentative FDA approval for its generic version of AstraZeneca’s antipsychotic drug Seroquel. Last summer, AstraZeneca won a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey against Teva and Sandoz over alleged infringement of its ’288 patent for Seroquel (quetiapine fumarate). Teva is appealing the decision. Final approval of Teva’s generic is expected upon resolution of the appeal, according to a company statement.
