Adhezion Gets Clearance for Skin Adhesive

January 7, 2009
The FDA granted marketing clearance to Adhezion Biomedical for its SurgiSeal (2-octyl cyanoacrylate) topical skin adhesive. The product is designed to save time during wound closure; provide a flexible, water-resistant, microbial barrier coating; and eliminate the need for suture removal. It can be used to treat skin lacerations. It also can be used with incisions and plastic surgery, the company said.
