Multiple Violations Found at Mayo Clinic IRB

The Mayo Clinic IRB failed to conduct required annual reviews of clinical trials, and investigators continued with studies despite the lapses in oversight, the HHS Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) says. The IRB did not keep sufficiently detailed meeting minutes and had inadequate written procedures and unsatisfactory documentation in some areas, according to an OHRP determination letter sent last month.
