FTC Intervenes in Getinge AB’s Acquisition of Datascope

Getinge AB will resolve FTC concerns that its proposed $865 million acquisition of Datascope would violate federal antitrust laws as it would limit competition for endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH) products. Datascope will divest its EVH product line to the Sorin Group USA and grant it a covenant not to sue for infringement of EVH-related patents that Getinge or Datascope hold at the time of the acquisition, according to an FTC statement.
