Massachusetts Law Could Harm Research, Industry Says

Several device and drug manufacturers in Massachusetts are concerned that proposed gift-reporting rules may adversely affect life sciences research in the state, even though the rules would exempt payments for clinical trials. In their comments, which were due last month, industry leaders warn that such marketing regulations will stifle innovation of new products and potentially cost the state millions of dollars in tax revenue.
